President Donald Trump offered a $1 million reward Monday to anyone who reports voter fraud in the upcoming midterms or past elections that leads to an arrest and conviction.
The offer comes eight days before the midterm elections, as the Trump administration is reportedly preparing a lawsuit challenging election results in Alaska and weighing suits in several other states with close Senate races, according to Raw America.
“Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he added.
The president did not specify who would fund the rewards or how claims would be verified. It is also unclear which government agency would administer the seven-digit payout.
Less than a week ago, Trump named himself the “arbitrator” of a separate whistleblower program that would pay people 1% of any fraud they help uncover.
In 2020, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick set up a $1 million fund for voter fraud tips. His first payout, $25,000 in 2021, went to Eric Frank, a progressive Pennsylvania poll worker whose tip led to the conviction of a Republican who voted twice, the Dallas Morning News reported. “This kind of blew up in their face,” Frank said.
Trump has repeatedly alleged widespread voter fraud, although evidence has not established that such fraud is widespread in U.S. elections.
