Texas preschool teacher allegedly pointed gun at driver during road-rage confrontation

A Texas preschool teacher was arrested after she allegedly pointed a gun at another driver during a wild road-rage confrontation on Wednesday.

Latashia Deshawn Walker-County, 51, allegedly pulled a firearm on another driver during a road-rage clash in Bexar County, Texas.

The victim reported the whirlwind shouting match to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, and investigators swiftly located Walker-County, News 4 San Antonio reported.

She allegedly confessed to brandishing her firearm during the argument with the other female driver.

Walker-County was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and released on a $50,000 bond.

Walker-County is a pre-kindergarten teacher at the troubled Essence Preparatory Public School in San Antonio, Texas, according to its website.

The tuition-free public charter school was ordered to close at the end of this academic year — just four years after opening its doors, as reported by the San Antonio Report.

The Texas Education Agency declined to renew the charter’s license, citing three years of consistent low academic performance.

The school, which serves students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade, was “created to meet black and brown children’s educational, social and emotional needs” and endeavored to “show that home zip codes are not predictors of educational success,” according to its website.

In the wake of her speedy release — and impending unemployment — Walker-County shared cryptic posts about thanking God “for what didn’t happen.”

She also reshared one post that about “[cleaning] up your spirit” rather than worrying “about an image.”
