President Donald Trump left countless onlookers taken aback Saturday after speaking with reporters ahead of his rally in Georgia — and, according to some critics, having a difficult time doing so.
“Speaking to reporters before traveling to Georgia for a rally, Trump could barely speak, but what he said was nutso,” wrote independent journalist Aaron Rupar in a social media post on X to his more than 1.1 million followers.
Trump spoke with reporters Saturday moments after casting his early ballot in Palm Beach, Florida, and at times became combative as reporters pressed him on topics such as government corruption, golfing and the midterms.
While speaking, however, the president sounded “like hell,” Rupar argued, with even Trump admitting that “you lose your voice a little bit” when leading as many rallies as he had this month ahead of the midterms.
“It’s a strain on your voice,” Trump said.
With Trump’s rally scheduled just hours away, some questioned whether the 80-year-old president was up for the task.
“Is the f—– ready to kick the bucket?” asked Mykhailo Golub, a Ukrainian communications consultant and former journalist.
“Trump has a rally later tonight and he can barely talk right now,” Rupar noted in another social media post.
Trump has faced growing questions regarding his physical and mental health. He’s been observed exhibiting a number of potential symptoms of various health conditions, including apparent facial drooping, severe bruising and swollen ankles. Bruce Davidson, a prominent clinical professor of medicine at Washington State University, said earlier this year that he believed Trump had suffered a stroke.
Trump sounds like hell during bizarre pre-rally gaggle
Speaking to reporters before traveling to Georgia for a rally, Trump could barely speak, but what he said was nutso. He claimed his uncle invented radar, admitted he told the DOJ to sue Alaska over the election, said he could “violate” Gov. Prizker and send troops into Chicago, and had a weirdly defensive and contradictory answer when asked who he golfed with today.Supercut: — Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) October 24, 2026
