Trump snaps at female reporter as he’s pressed on spiraling war: ‘You don’t know anything’

President Donald Trump snapped at a female reporter in the Oval Office Tuesday after being pressed on the escalating U.S. war against Iran, which analysts increasingly fear may be spiraling.

The United States has hammered Iran with daily strikes over the past week, prompting Iran to launch retaliatory attacks on U.S. assets across the Middle East, killing at least three U.S. service members last weekend. True casualty numbers remain in question given the Trump administration’s alleged withholding of information related to the conflict.

“Mr. President, there are no signs that Iran is ready to stop fighting, so what is the plan?” the journalist asked Trump.

“Well, how would you know?” Trump responded defiantly. “How would you know if there are no signs? What, you know something that I don’t know?”

The journalist noted that Iran has continued to attack U.S. allies in the Middle East, prompting Trump to lash out at the reporter for relying on “fake” media outlets.

“You don’t know what the dialogue is behind the scenes, that they want to meet desperately to try and end it because they’re getting decimated,” Trump said.

“You don’t get that when you listen to your fake station, but you don’t know, you don’t know anything. You know something that I don’t know? You know something I don’t know?”

The journalist then bluntly asked the president, “Well, tell us!”

“Uh… I will tell you they want to desperately meet,” Trump said. “And until they’re ready to meet in a meaningful way, we have no interest.”

The U.S. war against Iran has sparked fears of renewed price surges to oil, as well as potential shortages of goods. Those fears were only exacerbated after the Yemeni military organization known as the Houthis announced a new maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia, a crucial U.S. ally in the region, a move that could put the “flow of millions of barrels” of oil at risk.
