Prominent conservative activist Brigitte Gabriel was hammered Monday after joining First Lady Melania Trump’s call for ABC to cancel comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s show – only for her past remarks to be immediately used against her.
“ABC must TAKE action against Jimmy Kimmel,” Gabriel wrote in a social media post Monday on X to her more than 1.4 million followers. “I stand with FLOTUS.”
Kimmel was under fire Monday by conservative figures after remarks he made last week resurfaced in the wake of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting on Saturday, where he joked that Mrs. Trump had the glow of “an expectant widow.”
While Mrs. Trump was promptly ridiculed for criticizing Kimmel for spreading “hate” – while ignoring the countless remarks of her husband – Gabriel wasn’t spared either, particularly due to a past social media post she published last September.
“Jimmy Kimmel was never cancelled because conservatives don’t support cancel culture,” Gabriel wrote in a social media post on X back on Sept. 23, 2025.
“Is this you?” asked X user “Muscab Issa Mohamud,” a self-proclaimed “moderate conservative” and programmer, sharing a screengrab of Gabriel’s past social media post.
“This you, dummy,” wrote another, X user “Cubs World,” a sports enthusiast who also shared a screengrab of Gabriel’s past social media post.
And X user “WhickTV,” a writer, streamer and political commentator, argued that Gabriel’s call against Kimmel was at direct odds with free speech, a principle Gabriel purported to support with her previous statement.
“I stand with the 1st Amendment and the Constitution of the United States of America,” they wrote in a social media post on X to their more than 9,000 followers. “Kimmel can say what he wishes.”
