Chris Rock admitted that his porn obsession contributed to the breakdown of his 18-year marriage to Malaak Compton-Rock.
“I was not a great husband,” the “Everybody Hates Chris” alum told GQin his “Men of the Year” profile published Tuesday.
“I watched a lot of porn. I don’t watch porn anymore. I haven’t watched porn in five, six years.”

Rock, 61, candidly reflected on his other mistakes throughout his marriage to Compton-Rock, 57, including not listening, not being kind and cheating with three women.
“It’s not anything I’m proud of, but it’s something I had to go through,” he added.
The comedian compared his actions to a character in the Marvel Universe, who has to “test his powers,” and is initially an “a–hole” before helping people.

“They’re racing trains, and they’re lifting up ocean liners, and they try to go to the sun, then they crash down because they realize they’re not God,” Rock explained.
“I tested my powers. I definitely realized I wasn’t God or anywhere near him, and I was severely humbled, as I should have been.”
Rock and Compton-Rock tied the knot in 1996 and welcomed two kids, Lola, 24, and Zahra, 22, before calling it quitsin 2014.

“After much contemplation and 19 years of marriage, Chris and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Compton-Rock wrote in a statement at the time.
“Being fortunate enough to lead a life of service by working with those most vulnerable makes me well aware of life’s blessings, even when faced with difficulties.”
The exes finalized their divorce in 2016.

Rock and Compton-Rock reunited in May to celebrate Zahra’s college graduation from the University of Southern California.
After splitting from Compton-Rock, Rock went on to date Megalyn Echikunwoke from 2016 to 2020.
He was also linked to Carmen Ejogo in 2020 and Lake Bell in 2022 before moving on with his current girlfriend, Simone Henault, in March.
