President Donald Trump unleashed a furious attack on Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community on Thursday, accusing its members of taking over the state before issuing an ominous message to its Democratic leaders.
“The once Great State of Minnesota is being taken over by Somali Immigrants,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “There is Violence, Murder, and Mayhem all over the State. The people of Minnesota must fight back.”
Trump then turned his anger toward Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, accusing him of corruption.
“Your Governor is an incompetent thief who doesn’t want to get involved,” Trump continued. “He just wants to get out of town with as much as he can steal, and then lead a quiet life.”
But the president returned to his attack on Somali immigrants.
“The Somalians should not be allowed to get away with what they are doing,” he wrote Thursday. “They view you as weak and stupid people. Fight back (sic) Minnesota, fight back!”
Trump ended with a message to Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.
“If you need, the Federal Government will come to your rescue,” he wrote. “Governor Tim Walz, and Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, must immediately ask for Federal help — and leave the rest to us!”
