Presley Gerber had access to world-class professionals, specialized facilities and extensive treatments prior to his death at 27 years old.
Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford, 60, and Rande Gerber, 64, was staying at Resolutions Living’s $7.7 million luxurious rehabilitation home in Santa Monica, California, when he passed of a suspected overdose on Sunday.
The Resolutions Living facility focuses on providing addiction and mental health support, including a staff that can cater to each resident’s specific needs at the three-story property, according to its website.
The program claims the home gives peace and serenity to residents, as well as the opportunity to venture out and experience sober living in the area.
The house includes spacious living quarters, a movie theater, a gym, views of the city and nearby mountains, as well as a fully stocked kitchen with meals curated by chefs.
As for the treatment, the website says residents can participate in a three-phase recovery program catered to their specific needs, including goal-setting activities, volunteer work and character-building exercises.
The staff currently consists of certified counselors, doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, yoga instructors, an acupuncturist and a hypnotherapist.
Richard Taite, the founder and chairman at Carrara Treatment, which is not affiliated with Resolutions Living, told Page Six a situation like Gerber’s is proof that receiving professional care “doesn’t make somebody medically invincible.”
“Addiction can involve serious medical risk: withdrawal, underlying health conditions, medication interactions, overdose risk and complications from multiple substances,” he continued.
“Walking through the front door doesn’t erase the physiological consequences of addiction. People can experience withdrawal complications, medication reactions, psychiatric emergencies and other medical problems while they’re in treatment. The goal isn’t to pretend risk disappears. It’s to manage that risk intelligently.”
A source told Page Six that Gerber was struggling prior to seeking treatment and “knew he needed help,” as he wanted to be “free” of his addictions once and for all.
“He’s always suffered from a huge lack of self-esteem and had trouble accepting his real self and feeling fully confident in who he was as a person,” the source added.
Police, fire and EMT rushed to the scene after a call was madearound 9:30 Sunday morning. Emergency dispatch obtained by Page Six revealed it was for a “cardiac arrest” and “overdose.”
Gerber was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause and manner of death are still pending, per the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Resolutions Living has yet to comment on Gerber’s death.
Gerber is survived by his mom, dad and sister, Kaia.
