The White House began teasing what it called “Trump TV” on Monday, just hours after the nation’s major television networks stopped providing shared video coverage of President Donald Trump.
“Something’s coming. Stay tuned,” The White House wrote alongside a six-second video showing an old television flickering with static before displaying Trump’s face.
A second teaser showed a satellite news truck driving past the White House. Hours later, in a third post from the White House’s official X account, the administration announced: “Streaming 24/7. Live at 7 p.m. Trump TV.”
The posts didn’t offer any additional explanation. The promotion arrives as Trump banned CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, and major networks, including ABC, CBS and Fox News, suspended their participation in televised pool coverage.
Critics of the MAGA administration quickly sounded off on the latest development.
“State-run media is here,” liberal commentator Brian Krassenstein posted Monday. “I honestly didn’t think we would have fallen this far this fast.”
Protect Democracy writer and editor Amanda Carpenter, a former communications director to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), responded: “State-run TV? Seems likely.”
Maggie Lovitt, a deputy news editor at Collider, offered an even more blunt reaction: “We live in hell.”
The political account Trump Lie Tracker accused Trump on X of launching “his own propaganda outlet to evade scrutiny” and added: “The smallest man who ever lived,” while @HQNewsNow wrote the announcement was “similar to Russia and North Korea.”
