Actor Jack Lowden remained tight-lipped about rumors that he’s been cast as James Bond in the forthcoming franchise film.
“It’s all very flattering,” the “Dunkirk” star told British GQ in an interview published Monday, with the outlet noting that the actor became visually unsettled when asked about the Denis Villeneuve-directed movie.
“It’s nice to be mentioned — for any role — and I’m just not really going to add to the noise,” he continued.

Lowden, 36, also commented on his “Slow Horses” co-star Gary Oldman’s remarks from a September interview about the former being on the “shortlist” for the role.
“We’re going to find out pretty soon, aren’t we?” Oldman said on Canada’s “The Morning Show” at the time. “Because they have picked [the next Bond]. They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet. So my fingers are crossed for Jack.”
In response, Lowden told British GQ: “It’s very nice, and Gary’s a sweetheart. It’s particularly lovely, coming from someone like him. But I don’t really listen to it.”

The Hollywood Reporter reported in October that Lowden and Callum Turner, also 36, were among the narrowed-down finalists to portray the next Bond.
According to the outlet, the duo was set to undergo one last screen test at the end of the month before the final decision was made.
Another source told Deadline that two others received test offers, including “The Crown” actor Josh O’Connor, 36. The fourth person’s identity wasn’t revealed.

Additionally, an insider told Variety in April that the new Bond would appear younger than the actors who played the secret agent in the past.
The new man in the suit will take over Daniel Craig’s coveted role, which he portrayed for five films from 2006’s “Casino Royale” to 2021’s “No Time to Die.”
Sean Connery was the original Bond when the first Bond film, “Dr. No,” came out in 1962. He played the role for 21 years.

The “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” actor’s final appearance as Bond was in the 1983 movie “Never Say Never Again.”
George Lazenby, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosan are among the several other actors who also portrayed Bond.
Villeneuve — who also directed “Dune” — and “Peaky Blinders” scriptwriter Steven Knight are the masterminds behind the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios movie.
