Craig Melvin is having quite the scary start to Halloween.
The “Today” co-anchor was scolded by none other than Martha Stewart on Friday’s broadcast after he spilled chocolate ganache on her white pants.
Stewart made an appearance on the show’s Halloween special celebrating NBC’s 100th anniversary, sharing her favorite festive recipes — including how to make a spiderweb on a cheesecake.

“Someone forgot the chocolate ganache,” Stewart said, as she was preparing to decorate the cheesecake.
Melvin, who was dressed up as the TV personality’s pal Snoop Dogg at the 2024 Olympics, quickly picked up the piping bag of ganache for her, but not without accidentally drizzling some on her white pants first.
“Ahhh!” Stewart said as it spilled all over her, while Melvin had his mouth open in disbelief.

His co-anchors, Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly — dressed as an NBC Page and singer Ella Langley, respectively — also stood in shock.
“Snoop!” Stewart, who was dressed for the Olympics in a white American flag sweater, snapped. “Real Snoop would never do this!”
Melvin then moved to other side of the table, to move away from Stewart and closer to Daly, before making his way back.
However, not all love was lost between the two, as she let out a quick laugh before she began to decorate the cheesecake.

“Let’s do this very carefully,” she said, adding that the chocolate ganache was “so sloppy” that she had “never seen anything like it.”
“I have burning legs of hot chocolate,” the homemaking mogul added, as she spread the ganache atop the cheesecake.
The awkward on-air moment is not the first for Melvin this week.
On Monday, he interviewed Parker Posey, which saw him suffer not one, but two mortifying moments.

While asking the “White Lotus” star about her upcoming projects, including a rumored role in a horror film, she mistook the word “horror” for “whore.”
“I thought you called me a whore!” Posey said in response.
“I did not call you a whore!” he insisted. “H-o-r-r-, horror, I did not enunciate well.”
Posey then said she was “sweating” and began to fan herself with a sheaf of papers, while revealing that she is actually not taking part in the horror film anymore.

“I was [doing] it,” she explained. “Yeah, it’s not happening anymore. Something came up.”
Posey was rumored to star in “Sleepover” by Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal Pictures next year.
After Posey shot down the rumor, Melvin admitted that the interview had taken an “even more awkward than usual” turn.
However, things ended on a good note as Posey told Melvin that the awkward interview was “funny.”
