Former White House correspondent and CNN host Jim Acosta laughed off comments made by fired White House press secretary Katie Zacharia that she’d like a second shot at the job while blaming the “media” for her ouster.
Zacharia has been making herself available to conservative media outlets and stating she would be more than willing to return to Donald Trump’s White House in some capacity if asked.
According to Acosta, after the “sideshow” Zacharia became after misrepresenting herself as a lawyer, there is little chance her calls would be returned.
During an appearance on Newsmax, Zacharia stated, “Well, I don’t know if I’d say I want the old job back, though. If the president asked, as he did before, I would take it,” before gushing, “That role was such a gift and such a privilege that he asked me to do, but it was never the ultimate goal.”
Asked to respond by MS NOW host Alicia Menendez, Acosta remarked, “I think that they’ve probably had their fill of Katie Zachariah over at the White House. And I, you know, when you pass yourself off as an attorney and then you’re not an attorney, that’s not a good look.”
“You know, I thought the worst of it was when, you know, [former Trump White House press secretary] Sean Spicerwent out there on day one of the first administration and said Donald Trump had the biggest crowd size in American history. You know it’s hard to top that. But Katie Zachariah did with flying colors.”
He later advised Zacharia, “You know, Katie, do what you do best: talking points in safe environments. I wouldn’t venture back into that briefing room unless you’re there for a holiday tour.”
