“Boy Meets World” alum Will Friedle, 50, was rushed to the hospital last week after he began peeing blood.
The actor shared the scary story on Thursday’s episode of his “Pod Meets World” podcast, revealing that he was diagnosed with a kidney stone.
He recounted that he noticed blood in his urine after getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
However, it wasn’t until his wife, Susan Martens, pointed out that he had gone pale that they decided to go to the hospital.

“I’m still in the midst of this thing,” Friedle said, joking he may have to leave the podcast early to pass the kidney stone.
According to Cleveland Clinic, having blood in your urine is a common symptom of kidney stones.
However, his short hospital stay seemed quite the event, as many of the doctors and nurses recognized him from his days as Eric Matthews on the ABC show.
“For some reason, on this day, in that hospital, I was more famous than I’ve ever been in my life,” Friedle said.

“Talk about the perfect place to be recognized,” he joked, adding that one nurse even came up to him and did his famous “Feeny call.”
It’s not the first time that Friedle has been open about his health, particularly his long-term struggles with anxiety.
During a January 2026 episode of the podcast, the star admitted that he first experienced anxietywhile filming the last season of “Boy Meets World” in the late ’90s.

“I was maybe six or eight weeks into anxiety, which I’d never experienced before in my life,” he said on the podcast.
At the time, the actor was 23.
“I still wasn’t talking about it. I’d been on medication for maybe a month, which is why I put on so much weight,” he added. “But my life was spiraling at this point. Badly.”

During a 2018 appearance at New York Comic Con, he explained that he began working in voice acting instead of taking on on-screen roles because of his anxiety, per Fox News.
But as he’s gotten older, he has learned how to better manage his symptoms.
“I never tell people you get over it because you never do, but you learn to cope with it in such a way where it just becomes a nuisance,” Friedle said during a June 6 interview with People.
