Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan’s execution by firing squad will be in public at Fort Hood, the base where he slaughtered 13 people in 2009, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth revealed Thursday.
“We’re gonna make sure it’s going to make sure that people are able to watch it, that it’s public, because people need to understand that there’s serious consequences for these types of things,” Hegseth said when asked by Real America’s Voice about the fate of the former Army major, who has been on military death row since 2013.
The defense chief said he believes it’s important Hasan be executed on the Texas base where he carried out the mass murder.

“Army major betrays his country, radical Islamist kills a bunch of Americans at Fort Hood. Of course we’re doing it at Fort Hood,” Hegseth said.
“We’re going to do it on a Thursday. We’re going to do it at one o’clock, which is when he did it. And it’s going to be soldiers with rifles executing the firing squad.”

Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist, opened fire on fellow service members at Fort Hood, Texas, on Nov. 5, 2009, killing 13 people and wounding 32 others.
He was convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in 2013 and sentenced to death.
The massacre was among the deadliest shootings ever at a US military installation.
