Liz Cho and Josh Elliott’s judge issues stern warning to feuding anchors in nasty divorce

The Connecticut judge in Liz Cho and Josh Elliott’s tumultuous divorce is demanding a trial take place as scheduled for December regardless of their upcoming arbitration meeting.

The warring anchors — who have been battling in court for over a year — agreed to resolve specific divorce matters in arbitration, which is when a non-biased third party listens to both sides and makes a binding agreement, this month.

However, in court papers exclusively obtained by Page Six, Judge Steven Dembo wrote in a September order that he approved the arbitration, but the trial will happen no matter what on Dec. 14 and Dec. 21.

“The case is 412 days old and trial has been continued multiple times,” Dembo wrote of the ongoing back-and-forth between the estranged exes.

According to court papers, the arbitration will cover “any and all issues that the Superior Court would have in dissolving the parties’ marriage.”

This includes the determination of alimony, the division of property, and the payment of counsel and expert fees.

The arbitrator, which is a retired judge, will have the authority to find a party in contempt and enter sanctions. The judge will issue a decision no later than 30 days after the meeting.

Elliott, 55, filed for divorce from Cho, also 55, on June 20, 2025, after nearly 10 years of marriage, Page Six exclusively reported.

The anchors have been at odds with each other from the start, as Cho requested copies of Elliott’s communication with “any person … with whom [he] has or has had a romantic and/or sexual relationship, from July 11, 2015, to the present” — as well as any “communications in connection with [his] search for any employment,” in a Nov. 6, 2025, court filing.

Then in a Jan. 29 court filing, the “Eyewitness News” anchor accused her ex of moving a “significant amount of furniture and furnishings” from their Connecticut home, including their two Portuguese water dogs.

She also claimed she was missing a watch and earrings from her jewelry bag with Elliott being “the only other person who had access to the missing watch and jewelry.”

Elliott’s lawyers denied Cho’s allegations in court papers, claiming Cho had “escalating and erratic behavior directed at not only [Elliott] but his minor child as well.”

He explained in a separate filing, “[Elliott] removed only limited furniture items and furnishings, many from the basement, solely to furnish a new residence after removing himself and his child from a hostile environment created by [Cho].”

Elliott went on to accuse her in court documents of “monitoring and listening to [Elliott’s] private phone calls; rifling through [Elliott’s] personal belongings and closet; leaving the marital residence for extended periods without communication despite the presence of two dogs requiring daily care.”

The former CBS anchor also claimed his estranged wife “lashed out” at him as he was “washing grapes for his daughter’s lunch, exclaiming that the grapes were hers and he was not permitted to put them in the child’s lunch.”

Page Six reported in August that Cho filed a motion for a protection order to stop Elliott’s legal team from conducting a deposition scheduled for July 23, 2026, claiming it was “noticed without any inquiry as to the availability of [Cho] and her counsel.”

The protective order request also showed Cho objecting to Elliott’s legal team requesting she provide a series of documents, including “copies of any written correspondence, emails, cards, text messages, or any written forms of communication between you and any person, other than the Plaintiff, with whom you have or have had a romantic and/or sexual relationship from July 11, 2015 to June 23, 2025.”

Despite Cho objecting to the request for production, she ultimately agreed to hand over the communications at a July court hearing.

Cho and Elliott — who each have one child from previous relationships — began dating when they met while working for ABC. They tied the knot in July 2015 in what was the second marriage for both.

Elliott was an anchor on “Good Morning America” from 2011 to 2014. He went on to work for NBC and CBSN. He is currently not employed with a network.

As for Cho, she remains in her decades-long position with “Eyewitness News.”
