A good Samaritan who pulled over to save her neighbor from a flipped-over car was killed when a passing car crashed and knocked her off an elevated highway, according to police and family members.
Ka’Sheena “KK” Daniels, a 31-year-old mother of an adopted son, had pulled over on Interstate 10 in New Orleans on Sept. 25 when she recognized the driver of a crashed car as her neighbor, a friend who was with her, Franchon Williams, told Fox 8 Live.
Daniels pulled her female neighbor out of the turned-over vehicle — just for another car to hit one of the other stationary cars near her, sending her plunging to her death off the overpass and injuring several other people helping at the initial crash scene.

“[We were] looking up under the cars, everywhere, and then they told me, ‘Well, y’all, somebody went over,’” Williams recalled in an emotional interview.
“They put their flashlight down there [and] it’s my friend.
“She’s just down there,” she said.
Daniels’ heartbroken mother, O’Sheenana Daniels, rushed to the scene to help authorities find her daughter, repeatedly yelling out her name.

She said she heard Daniels cry out “Ma” before she died from her injuries.
“It’s sad to say, but I wish she just never would have helped,” O’Sheenana Daniels said of her daughter’s final good deed. “I just wish she would have just kept on going about her business.”
Daniels, a mother of an adopted son, Noah, had planned to start paramedic school with Williams next week, she said.

“Ka’Sheena died a hero. She put someone else’s life before her own, and her final moments reflected the kind of heart she carried throughout her life,” friends wrote on a GoFundMe page raising money for funeral expenses.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
