MS NOW’s Nicolle Wallace was floored on Tuesday as she covered the latest catastrophic setbacks to President Donald Trump’s “grand conspiracy” case.
The case is meant to root out a supposed effort by elements of the “deep state” to fabricate criminal charges against Trump and his allies, supposedly being the driving force behind the four prosecutions of the president while he was out of office. But so far, Wallace noted, even hardcore MAGA loyalist prosecutors are bailing on this project.
“Faithful and loyal attack dogs can’t twist his so-called grand conspiracy case into anything more than bogus retaliation, leaving the investigation not only without any evidence, but now without any leadership at the top of the Department of Justice,” said Wallace.
The latest Washington Post reporting, she continued, reveals that “Kurt Olsen — that’s another Trump loyalist working on the investigation — stepped down yesterday,” after he “became frustrated by pressure from the Justice Department officials to increase the pace of the probe and secure grand jury indictments.”
“The Washington Post adds that a DOJ spokesperson rejected any suggestion that top officials have pressured Joe DiGenova or this guy Olsen, or anyone else involved in the grand conspiracy investigation to bring charges before the inquiry was complete,” said Wallace. Nonetheless, as of now, “that’s three prosecutors who have left. It isn’t clear who, if anyone, leads this debacle.”
“Three weeks ago, the prosecutor in charge of the whole thing resigned under scrutiny for his lack of criminal indictments after replacing the original lead prosecutor, who was sidelined for raising concerns about, you guessed it, a lack of evidence,” Wallace added.
