Imprisoned Theranos fraudster Elizabeth Holmesposted a cryptic threat against apparent enemies who “put my child’s health and safety at risk” — using fiery language and imagery in the ominous dispatch.
A post on Holmes’ X account featured an AI-generated image of a woman resembling the disgraced tech founder holding a match with a flaming bridge behind her.
“I don’t get angry often. Tonight, I am,” the post began.
“People put my child’s health and safety at risk. They knowingly and consciously chose this path.
“If protecting my child means burning bridges, I’ll burn them to light the way.
“Time to sleep. I’ll grab the match tomorrow,” she concluded.

Holmes, the founder of the now-defunct blood testing startup Theranos, was convicted in 2022 on four counts of wire fraud and conspiracy for cheating investors.
She has two children, a son William, 5, and a daughter Invicta, 3, with her husband, Billy Evans. Invicta was born in February 2023, three months before Holmes reported to prison.
Her X account is still active, despite her serving an 11-year prison sentence at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas.
The account started posting in September 2025, but Holmes doesn’t appear to be publishing the posts herself.
“Mostly my words, posted by others,” her X bio reads. It’s unclear who is sharing the notes.
Recently, her account has been promoting the forthcoming Nathan Fielder documentary “You Can See Everything,” which chronicles her downfall from Silicon Valley hotshot to criminal.
The full trailer for the film dropped Wednesday, showing Fielder making convicted Holmes cry – and asking her rich husband whether he thought she was “scamming” him.
Prosecutors said Holmes lied to investors from 2010 to 2015 by promising Theranos’ technology could scan for hundreds of diseases on a single drop of blood from a finger prick. She is eligible for early release on Dec. 30, 2031.
It’s unclear what prompted her threatening Friday post. One social media user asked her if this was a threat, to which she replied it was “a promise.”
According to People magazine, Holmes’ children are able to visit their mother twice a week.
Holmes told People that it’s heartbreaking for her to say goodbye to her children after every visit.
“The people I love the most have to walk away as I stand here, a prisoner, and my reality sinks in,” she said.
