A passenger jumped overboard from a cruise ship bound for Southern California from Mexico, prompting the vessel to turn around and launch a search Saturday.
The incident happened aboard the Carnival Panorama, operated by Carnival Cruise, as the ship was sailing from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to Long Beach, a Carnival Cruise Line spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.
After the passenger went missing, the crew turned the ship around, reviewed surveillance footage and notified the US and Mexican coast guards, Carnival told the station.
The California Post has reached out to the cruise company for comment.
