President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement has a new symbol of greed that would make Gordon Gekko jealous, according to one ex-GOP strategist.
A new report from Vanity Fair revealed that a select few White House staffers have been gifted a custom Rolex watch that has either the 45- or 47-second hand bearing a star. The report noted that the watch is a “curious” collector’s piece because Rolex no longer makes custom watches. Insiders such as Steve Witkoff, Susie Wiles, and a slew of people in JD Vance’s office have the timepiece, which has drawn “envy” from other staffers, according to the report.
Steve Schmidt, a former GOP strategist, argued in a new Substack essay that the watch is a symbol that “it’s all about to end” for Trump and MAGA.
“MAGA acted with purpose and intent,” Schmidt wrote. “The bill is coming due. There is panic in the air.”
Schmidt added that Democrats have “one mandate” if they retake control of the House and Senate after the midterms — making this insanity stop.
