Kennedy scion demands Hyannis Port caretakers be fired for hosting ex-con’s birthday blowout

It’s the B’day of Pigs Invasion!

Page Six reported on Thursday that the trusted caretakers of the Kennedys’ historic Hyannis Port compound have handed it over to a disgraced businessman for his blowout birthday bash.

Now Camelot scion Ted Kennedy Jr. is outraged, demanding that the hallowed home be turned over to new trustees “immediately.”

Society was shocked this summer when invitations went out for a joint birthday party for Dennis Kozlowski — the former Tyco exec jailed in 2005 over a $134 million fraud scheme— and his wife Kimberly to be hosted on the lawn where John F. Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy and their famous families once played flag football.

The late Senator Ted Kennedy’s widow, Vicki, fulfilled his wishes by donating the property to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute in 2012, to preserve the home for educational purposes.

“I am deeply concerned that the Edward M. Kennedy Institute would permit my family’s ancestral home, the historic Kennedy Compound, to be rented out to private individuals – an action that I believe is completely inconsistent with my father’s vision and values,” he told us on Friday.

“When my father donated his home to the Institute upon his death, he envisioned it as an educational center and living museum where historians, students, policymakers and writers could convene and be inspired by the ideals of the Kennedy family,” he continued.

Kennedy further said his father “wanted future generations of Americans to better understand our nation’s history and how decisions were made during President Kennedy’s Administration” and that he “imagined a place that would advance the causes that he and his siblings championed, such as access to affordable health care, civic engagement, bipartisan cooperation and dignity in our political discourse, and important family-led nonprofits such as Special Olympics and Robert and Ethel Kennedy Human Rights.”

On Friday, the lawn of the main Kennedy house is expected to be transformed into the Kozlowskis’ birthday fête, billed as “An Evening in Camelot.”

One source told us Kimberly “finagled a situation,” and called “the whole thing a bit weird.” Others have slammed the couple for using the Kennedy compound to rehabilitate Dennis’ image and regain access into society.

Kimberly, on the other hand, took offense to the term “finagled,” and claimed that someone from the EMK Institute had approached them. After making a donation — a sum she said was typical for “renting an event space” — the Institute allowed them to host the party on the lawn.

“We’re not renting the property… they’re allowing us to put a tent up on this beautiful legacy property, so we’re just in a tent on the lawn, just like the old all-American family that you’ve seen in all the past Kennedy films,” Kimberly said.

Meanwhile, this was all news to the Kennedys. We’re told the family was only alerted to an event happening less than 48 hours ago. “They figured that it was some kind of event that the Kennedy Institute was hosting for its volunteers or some other such function,” an insider told us, adding “they did not know that it was Dennis Kozlowski’s party until [they] read about it on Page Six.”

The Kozlowski’s shouldn’t expect birthday wishes from Kennedy. The party has left him so incensed that he is calling for a new organization to take over the Kennedy compound.

“This event demeans and undermines my father’s intent. After years of having our family’s efforts to work with the Institute dismissed, I am calling for the immediate transfer of the deed to an organization that is better suited to preserve, sustain and advance the values and purpose to which my father entrusted his home,” he concluded.

A rep for the EMK Institute did not get back to us.
