‘The Challenge 42’ star Izzy Fairthorne addresses alleged racial incident that fans didn’t see: ‘We were in shock’

Izzy Fairthorne said the entire cast of “The Challenge” Season 42 were “in shock” over Josh Goldstein, Leo Dionicio and Nelson Thomas’ triple disqualification — which was caused by an alleged racial incident that was cut from the edit.

“We didn’t really know much about it. None of us were there,” Fairthorne exclusively told Page Six on Wednesday.

“So when [host] T.J. [Lavin] came in and said, ‘They’re going,’ we were like, ‘What’s going on?’ They didn’t show it, but obviously we were so upset.”

On the latest episode of “The Challenge: Cutthroat,” Lavin, 49, told the cast that Goldstein, Dionicio and Thomas “all broke the code of conduct” and were off the show, with no further explanation.

According to the spoiler account GamerVev, Dionicio, 24, was disqualified for using the N-word during a game with Thomas, 37. Goldstein, 29, was disqualified for repeating the slur.

Thomas allegedly confronted Goldstein, walked away, and then returned to the kitchen where he broke multiple items. He was taken to a hotel and then disqualified for the kitchen damage, per GamerVev.

Fairthorne, 27, told us that two of the three men filled her in on what went down between them.

“I don’t want to say their side of it,” she shared. “That situation about how sensitive it is, I think it should come from the horse’s mouth rather than me.”

Fairthorne also admitted she “was shocked” that the alleged incident wasn’t included in the episode.

“I think maybe people have their reasons for it,” the “Too Hot to Handle” alum stated. “I don’t know if they’re protecting anyone. I don’t know if it shouldn’t make the cut because it’s a sensitive topic.I don’t know the reason behind it.”

Fairthorne said she was expecting — and hoping — for the drama to make the edit, but since it didn’t, she’s had to settle for hearing about it from those involved.

“And I think if anyone’s gonna speak on it, it should be the people in that situation,” she added.

Fairthorne was involved in her own mess on the show, forming a flirtatious bond with Cory Wharton, who has been in an on-again, off-again relationship for years with his baby mama, “Teen Mom” alum Taylor Selfridge.

Thomas confronted Fairthorne and warned her about Wharton’s complicated situation at home, but his approach wasn’t received well by Fairthorne.

“At the time, I was told what his situation was at home, and maybe it wasn’t the full truth,” Fairthorne told Page Six. “I don’t think it was.”

She continued, “And that’s why when Nelson came to me, I was obviously very shocked and taken aback about how rude he was. But then ultimately that also made me realize there’s something else going on here and there’s a reason he’s doing it.”

Fairthorne said that she and Nelson made up after the show, once she realized he was just trying to help her — but hasn’t forgiven Wharton as easily.

“It’s a horrible situation. Like watching it back, I look at it and I’m like, ‘Now I know the full situation. That’s not me. That’s not my character.’ It shouldn’t be me that’s upset, it’s other people in the situation at the end of the day. It’s horrible to watch.“

Wharton released a statement about his behavior last week, claiming he already apologized to Selfridge, “the person who needed to hear it the most.”

“I’m gonna continue to handle things behind closed doors. It’s been a very long time since I haven’t been proud of who I see on camera, and this is one of those times,” he wrote on X.

Selfridge, who has two daughters with Wharton, recently spoke out on social media as well, telling fans that she was trying to avoid a “crash out.”

“They want to see the drama. I get it. I’d want to see it too,” she said, adding, “But I’m trying to use my brain of mine.”

“The Challenge: Cutthroat” drops new episodes Wednesdays on Paramount+.
