Anti-Trump conservative floats ‘crazy’ Cabinet attack: ‘Don’t tell me what can’t be done’

A conservative journalist offered a modest proposal for cleaning up President Donald Trump’s administration: Impeach everyone.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced articles of impeachment against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on Tuesday on eight charges of high crimes and misdemeanors related to the Iran war and the boat strikes in the Caribbean, among other allegations, and The Bulwark’s Jonathan V. Last argued the case had been made against the Pentagon chief – and his fellow cabinet officials.

“All in all, it’s a pretty thorough document,” Last wrote. “You know what else it is? A good start.”

Last urged a Democratic-led House to impeach all of Trump’s officials, and he named names.

“Attorney General Todd Blanche should be impeached for his role in covering up the Epstein files. Get him under oath and start asking questions,” Last began. “Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick should be impeached for graft and emoluments with the various trades and deals his sons have pursued.”

“FBI Director Kash Patel should be impeached for misuse of funds and government property,” he continued. “Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. should be impeached for recklessly endangering public health and contributing to the deaths of at least seven Americans from measles since his confirmation.”

“Secretary of State Marco Rubio should be impeached for his part in the illegal scheme to kidnap Maduro and arrange extrajudicial killings,” Last added. “And here’s the big one: Vice President JD Vance should be impeached for his part in furthering the Iran war in contravention of the War Powers Resolution of 1973.”

The vice president and his allies have tried to present him as a behind-the-scenes moderating force, but Last urged Democrats to force him to defend himself under oath.

“This is all just useless daydreaming, right?” Last wrote. “A Democratic House majority would never try to remove a series of cabinet secretaries. It’s impractical. It’s process-oriented. It doesn’t speak to Kitchen Table Issues.

“But why is it that Republicans get to do crazy, impractical stuff all the time?” he wrote. Trump put his face on U.S. currency, in bald contravention of the law. He attempted a f—ing coup. Don’t tell me what can’t be done.”
