Yo Gotti Kicks Out Anyone From His Restaurant That Isn’t 30 Years or Older With New Rule

Yo Gotti really doesn’t want young people eating at his restaurant. You would think any business owner would want anyone with money to come patronize their establishment. Unless it’s a fine dining experience where you can’t come in wearing flip-flops, why would you make it harder on people? Money shouldn’t discriminate, but in Gotti’s case, it just might.

Reports from local news and internet outlets show that the “Put A Date On It” rapper has imposed a sudden, strict rule for his popular restaurant Prive. “To enhance our dining experience, entry is restricted to guests 30 years of age or older,” the sign said. “Please have a valid government-issued ID available upon arrival.”

According to Fox 13, this new rule from Yo Gotti came on the heels of tragic shootings occurring outside of his restaurant. In an attempt to dissuade such crowds from being at his establishments, he’s only allowing certain age demographics to patronize.

Many are naturally skeptical or even bashing it outright. One person on Instagram argued that Yo Gotti’s music attracted that energy in the first place. Consequently, he can’t be surprised that it followed him even into formal restaurant settings. However, some people are supportive of the rule. One person online argued that it’s important to set a precedent and move away from younger, more violent crowds.

“If this level of exclusivity leads to more profit by cutting out a particular demographic, this could be a genius move that results in a trend from more restaurants,” one person argued on X.

Similarly, another person said, it was a “smart business move” from Yo Gotti. “When the parking lot starts looking like a mixtape video set every weekend, you raise the age limit and let the grown folks eat in peace. 30+ with ID is basically saying ‘bring your maturity or stay outside.’”

Prive isn’t the only business venture Yo Gotti has his hands in. An interview with Forbes detailed how the Memphis MC has built a hefty $100 million empire. Most notably, he has his label CMG with rappers like Moneybagg Yo, GloRilla, Mozzy, and EST Gee at the forefront.

Ultimately, hip-hop is just a hobby for Gotti at this point. He told the outlet that he never has to rap again if he doesn’t want to anymore. “If I never wrote another rap again, I’m financially straight,” he said. “My whole career, I was setting up for that.”
