President Donald Trump privately phoned Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) Monday night.
According to three insiders who spoke with Axios, Trump warned the Congressman, “Things aren’t looking good.” He added his reelection would be “tough.”
Miller faces mounting pressure from the Republican Party to resign amid abuse allegations. Reports indicate he physically abused his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH).
Court records detail allegations claim he held a gun to her head, beat her, and broke their 2-year-old daughter’s collarbone, claims Miller vehemently denied Sunday.
His election odds plummeted from 47% to 34% on prediction market Polymarket following his denial, according to Newsweek.
Sen. Moreno publicly called Miller “increasingly erratic and dangerous” and urged his resignation, with multiple GOP senators supporting the call, Politico reported.
“Max Miller: “If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?” Democratic strategist Ally Sammarco alleged on social media.
The ballot replacement deadline is Tuesday, by the end of the day, according to The Hill.
