These days it seems like everyone is even more obsessed with longevity than ever before. Celebrity doctors tell you what to eat as you get older, TikTok influencers give you skin care routines and YouTube videos promise the most efficient exercises.
But what does aging well really mean? What do people who are actually doing it say about it?
For a special section in October, The New York Times would like to hear about the realities of living longer — from the unexpected joys to the sobering changes.
Are you aiming to join the ranks of the estimated 700,000 or so centenarians in the world? If living to 100 is your goal, do you have a plan to get there? Have you spent time with a friend or loved one who is that age? If so, what have you learned about how to live longer and love your life whatever age you aspire to?
We would love your thoughts (in, say, 200 words or less). We will not publish any part of your submission without contacting you first. We will not share your contact information outside the Times newsroom, and we will use it only to reach out to you.
