CNN’s Kaitlan Collins could get the last word against President Donald Trump on Monday night.
Collins will be the guest on Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show” after Trump’s bizarre attack on the correspondent during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday, The Daily Beast reported.
The reporter has been a long target of criticism by the president and was expected to respond to the president’s obsession with her during her appearance on Stewart’s show. Stewart has been a vocal opponent of Trump and has often spoken out about him.
Collins received an award at the WHCD for her coverage of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the Oval Office in 2025.
In his speech at the event, Trump mocked Collins’ looks and demeanor.
“I wanna personally congratulate CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on receiving her award; was all about me, it’s a fake, she shouldn’t get the award.” He then added that Collins is “a young, attractive woman” who “never smiles,” telling the audience, “I said, ‘Kaitlan, do you ever smile? Smile. You have a nice position. You’re at CNN fake news. You should be a happy person. Just smile, Kaitlan.’”
Trump then compared Collins to transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, joking that he’d mistakenly thought she’d landed “a major new sponsorship” before realizing “it wasn’t her on the Bud Light can.”
She later posted a pointed message paired with an Eleanor Roosevelt quote on social media.
Trump on Sunday escalated his multi-day spat with Collins when he shared an AI image of her as Mulvaney.
