Americans were not buying the White House’s claims about President Donald Trump‘s health, according to reports on Thursday.
A shocking new Quinnipiac poll revealed a whopping 59 percent of Americans, about 6 in 10 voters, do not think the Trump administration has been transparent about the president’s physical or mental health, The Daily Beast reported.
The poll found that half of all voters now believe the commander-in-chief isn’t physically fit for office. Another 51 percent said he is not mentally up to the job either.
“The polling on Trump’s health largely breaks down along partisan lines,” according to The Beast. “Eighty eight percent of Democrats and 62 percent of Independents do not believe the White House is being transparent. Seventy percent of Republicans believe the administration is being transparent, while 22 percent of GOP voters believe the White House is not.”
Trump, who had an hours-long scheduled visit to Walter Reed Medical Center in May involving 22 specialists, has been seen nodding off during public meetings and stays up late rage posting on his Truth Social platform. His hands have been slathered in makeup to reportedly hide bruising and photos show he has swollen ankles.
The White House has defended Trump’s health. His doctor, Sean Barbabella, has said Trump is in “excellent health.”
