President Donald Trump drew criticism on social media Tuesday after mocking a female weightlifter during a speech at a Mack Trucks assembly plant in Macungie, Pennsylvania.
While discussing women in sports, Trump shared a convoluted story and made groaning gestures in front of the crowd.
The moment sparked reactions across social media platforms.
Acyn, Senior Digital Editor for MeidasTouch, posted on X, “The President of the United States.”
Journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on X, “Checking in on the guy with the nuclear codes.”
Also on X, parody influencer Diane N Sevenay called it “Embarrassing. And sad.”
Political commentators also reacted. Progressive Jayne Cudzil questioned the behavior on X and drew attention to the President’s hands. While Drew T. on Bluesky, using vulgar language, highlighted Trump’s tendency to humiliate people, imaginary and real, during public appearances.
