Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene Say They Are Done Supporting the Republican Party

Former Trump loyalists Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene have both said that they are pulling their support from the Republican party.

In a recent episode of the podcast “Can’t Be Censored,” Carlson said “there’s no chance I would support the Republican party” in the November midterm elections.

“Not going to support the Democratic party,” the conservative commentator added. “I don’t know what I’m going to do. But at this point how could you support—how could I or any American voter—support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States? That puts the interest of a foreign country above those of its own citizens?”

Carlson, a podcaster who was previously one of Fox News’ most well-known anchors, was a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump. But when the U.S. and Israel launched the military strikes on Iran in February that began the war in the Middle East, Carlson vocally criticized the President and his Administration over the decision.

“I’ve voted Republican my entire life,” Carlson said on “Can’t Be Censored.” “I’ve been a consistent defender for 35 years of the Republican party—I mean, very consistent defender. But there’s no defending this because it’s immoral. And it’s exactly the opposite of what a political party in a democracy is charged with doing, which is representing its own voters, its own citizens, its own nation. And they’re not doing that. So no, I’m out. And if I’m out, then I think a lot of other people are out.”

On Monday, Greene took to social media to echo Carlson’s remarks.

“Tucker is not the only one who is done supporting the Republican Party,” the former Georgia congresswoman said in a post on X.

Carlson and Greene are among a number of prominent conservative figures who have objected to Trump’s military actions in Iran. Greene, who resigned from Congress at the start of the year, warned the party in March that the war could cost it the midterms, and went on to accuse Trump and his Administration of having “betrayed their campaign promises of No More Foreign Wars/No more Regime Change.”

Greene was one of the President’s closest allies until the two had a public falling out in November, driven in large part by her criticism of the way his Administration handled the files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“There is A LOT of us that are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country,” Greene said in her Monday post. “That does not mean we are turning into Democrats either. But we are DONE with the America LAST Republican Party.”
