A weird, crude remark made by President Donald Trump while touting his Iran deal has people cringing and mocking him.
Trump told reporters on Wednesday that “the press conference seems to have gone well. You shot your load, Steve, pretty much, right?”
He was referring to a G7 press conference in France, but it was unclear who Steve was and what Trump meant by “shot your load.”
Tom Nichols, a staff writer for The Atlantic, called out Trump’s “increasing inability to avoid saying inappropriate things” in a post on X.
“Wait, what did he say?” journalist Barry Malone asked.
Juliet Jeske, who runs the account and podcast Decoding Fox News, simply quoted “You shot your load…” to bring attention to the bizarre line.
“My fellow Christians who somehow believed a vote for Trump would restore morality have instead opened a floodgate to depravity,” author Jennifer Erin Valent wrote, striking a more serious tone. “It’s been a decade of uncomfortable to downright disgusting content, and it isn’t going to improve as his obvious dementia progresses.”
Ron Filipkowski, the editor-in-chief of the political news network MeidasTouch, responded more crudely by saying Trump “sounds like the director of a porn film.”
Vanity Fair Washington correspondent Aidan McLaughlin simply posted a famous meme mimicking the kind of double-take Trump’s remark sparked.
