MS NOW host Jonathan Lemire reported President Donald Trump has become isolated within his own White House, citing reports from The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s forthcoming book.
Lemire noted that Vice President JD Vance and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles retreated to the Situation Room with Trump’s inner circle, but excluded the president. Lemire characterized Trump as operating in an echo chamber where he only hears from people who agree with him, with no domestic travel and feedback limited to AI slop on Truth Social.
Trump is disconnected from reality, and his advisers are unable to prepare him for media questions, argues Lemire. This was especially clear on Wednesday, when the president said he loved inflation.
Lemire also emphasized, “I think the point here is, right, that it’s not just disconnected from voters, it’s also disconnected from what Republicans need him to be.”
Instead, Trump focuses on foreign policy and his legacy.
“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough agreed, saying, “He’s completely isolated even inside the White House according to this report.”
