Why billionaire Taylor Swift could be on the hook for Travis Kelce’s living expenses after wedding

Billionaire Taylor Swift might be on the hook for Travis Kelce’s living expenses after they tie the knot.

Page Six exclusively spoke with attorney Sarah Luetto about how their prenuptial agreement could look — considering Swift is worth much more money than the NFL player.

“When one party is worth significantly more than the other, prenuptial agreements frequently provide that the wealthier party will pay all of the couple’s living expenses while the less wealthy party preserves their separate estate,” Luetto, partner in Blank Rome’s Matrimonial & Family Law Group, told us.

The lawyer, who does not represent either party, explained that some agreements also entail the wealthier person “gifting or transmuting a portion of their estate to the community or to the other party’s separate property.”

This would allow “each party to maintain investments and assets during the marriage,” Luetto said, adding, “The amounts transmuted or gifted often increase over time, reflecting the duration of the marriage.”

While there are major disparities between Swift and Kelce’s respective estates, we’re told that they both hold intellectual property and other assets that are “inherently difficult to value and divide in a dissolution of marriage.”

“Given the complexities of their respective estates — and the lengths Swift has gone to in order to buy back her masters and protect her music catalog — it is likely that any prenuptial agreement would keep their respective estates entirely separate, regardless of any efforts made by either party to enhance the other’s estate during the marriage,” Luetto said.

The arrangement would make a dissolution “much simpler” with both “retraining their own estate.”

Their agreement may also include terms that would not prevent them from entering into joint ventures or purchasing assets jointly.

“They would simply need to clarify their ownership interests in any jointly held assets on a case-by-case basis,” Luetto explained.

The fact that they each have multiple residences in different states is another factor, as they might consider whether to include choice-of-law provisions — clauses in a contract that state which jurisdiction’s laws will be interpreted and enforced if there’s a dispute — in their prenup.

Swift owns homes in New York City, Rhode Island, Nashville and Los Angeles.

Kelce, for his part, has properties in Leawood, Kansas and Kansas City, MO. He also reportedly shares a home with his family in Orlando, Fla.

The 14-time Grammy winner and Kansas City Chiefs tight end may also utilize a prenup to protect her privacy.

“Swift and Kelce may wish to include terms fostering confidentiality and privacy,” Luetto said.

“This may include non-disparagement or non-disclosure terms related to their relationship.”

Swift was named a billionaire by Forbes in 2024 after her record-breaking Eras Tour and buying back her entire catalogue of music.

The athlete, for his part, has an estimated net worth of $47.3 million thanks to his football career, his “New Heights” podcast, and other ventures, according to Forbes.

Swift and Kelce — who got engagedafter two years of datingin August 2025 — are expected to say “I Do” this summer in New York City, a source previously told Page Six.
