Olivia Rodrigo mocked her former Disney Channel co-star Jake Paul during her hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live.”
The pop star pulled double duty as musical guest and host on the variety show over the weekend where she couldn’t help but poke fun of Paul, who was her castmate on the comedy series “Bizaardvark.”
The show made them both famous and Rodrigo reflected on how far they’ve come in her opening monologue — she just dropped her third studio album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love,” and he has carved out a YouTube and boxing career for himself.

“When I was 13, I was on a Disney show called ‘Bizaardvark,’ and we had an incredible cast, which included acting legend Jake Paul,” 23-year-old Rodrigo began. “And we’d always talk about our futures, me and Jake.”
“I’d say, ‘I really wanna create music that explores the complexities of girls my age,’ and he’d say, ‘Well, one day I really wanna beat up old guys on Netflix,’” she joked.
Paul, 29, famously fought retired boxing champ Mike Tyson in 2024, when the legend was 58 years old, and the fight was streamed globally on Netflix to an audience of 108 million.

“And we both did it, hooray!” Rodrigo concluded.
The internet erupted with laughter over the singer’s humorous remark, but the joke appeared lost on Paul, who happily took a walk down memory lane with his former Disney cohort.
“We had the vision [crying laughing emoji] i told you that you would sell stadiums out and then we both did proud of you fr [for real],” he tweeted on X.
When one fan commented that Rodrigo was being shady in her remarks, writing, “I think he didn’t get that she laughed at him and not with him,” he again took to X to insist he knew she was poking fun at him.
“I got that she was making a joke at my expense. So what,” he tweeted.
“She’s on ‘SNL’ and that’s what they are supposed to do. Doesn’t change my admiration of her and her success.”

He also posted a throwback picture of the two of them on the set of ‘Bizaardvark,‘ along with caption, “Ah the good ole days.”
“Bizaardvark” ran for three seasons on the Disney Channel from 2016 to 2019 and followed two best friends Paige (Rodrigo) and Frankie (Madison Hu) who write and perform quirky songs and videos for their growing online channel.
Paul played Dirk Mann for one season, a main character who performed crazy dares and hosted the segment “Dare Me Bro” on Paige and Frankie’s channel.
“Man, it was just a fun time to be honest,” he recalled to People magazine last year of his time on the show.
“I think it was a good kickstart to my career, because I was the first-ever influencer on TV.
“I think that really set a lot of things into motion for me, and I learned a lot about acting and media and all that stuff.”
