A mysterious skywriting message reading “Celeste is a liar” appeared over the Coachella area shortly after singer D4vdwas arrested in connection with the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
It is not known who arranged the aerial display, and authorities have not confirmed any link between the message and the ongoing murder investigation.

The timing, however, quickly fueled speculation online.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was taken into custody Thursday by LAPD officers who moved in on a Hollywood Hills home where he had been staying.
He was arrested by the department’s Robbery-Homicide Division and is being held without bail, police said.
Video from the scene showed Burke being escorted from the residence in handcuffs.
He had been out of public view for months prior to the arrest.
In an official statement, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the arrest.
“Detectives from Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery-Homicide Division have arrested David Burke, a 21-year-old resident of Los Angeles, for the murder of Celeste Rivas. Burke is being held without bail.
The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration,” the department said.
Authorities also confirmed that a grand jury investigation into the case began in February 2026, with Burke identified as a target during the proceedings.
The “Celeste is a liar” skywriting seen near Coachella has not been attributed to any individual or organization, and investigators have not publicly addressed whether it relates to the case. For now, it remains an unexplained and unverified detail circulating alongside a rapidly developing criminal investigation.
