Sicko dumps puppy in coyote country, drives off

In a stomach-churning act of cruelty caught on video, a cold-hearted culprit was filmed unceremoniously hurling a defenseless puppy through a tall fence and abandoning it at an Orange County animal shelter.

The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center released the shocking surveillance today of the April 10 incident, hoping the public can help identify the man who treated a living creature like a bag of kitchen scrap.

Collage of a person reaching through a gate to pick up a dark animal, and a white and black cat next to a gate, and a red car.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of April 10.

The video shows a red sedan in front of the facility’s gate during off-hours, around 3:25 a.m., stroll up and without hesitation, toss the tiny pooch through the cracks in the gate. He then calmly walked back to his car and drove off into the night.

Officials say the area is known as “coyote country,” making the sickening act even more dangerous for the pup.

Miraculously, the little survivor didn’t become a midnight snack.

Instead, the shaken puppy wandered away and somehow made its way to a nearby veterinary urgent care clinic, where staff discovered the dog and rushed it inside. The pup is reportedly doing well and in the care of Mission Viejo Animal Services.

“Abandoning an animal is illegal under California law,” the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center reminded the public.

A red car stops in front of an animal care facility, a man gets out, and throws a puppy over the fence.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Mission Viejo Animal Services at 949-470-3045.

Outraged locals and animal lovers lit up social media after the video surfaced, branding the man a “scum bag.”

“This is a deeply troubling and unacceptable act,” said Mission Viejo Animal Services Director Brynn Lavison in a statement. “There are safe, humane, and legal options for individuals who are unable to care for an animal. Abandoning a defenseless puppy in this manner not only endangers the animal but is also a violation of the law.”

Now, officials are hunting for the suspect, who remains on the loose.
