Law enforcement is asking the public to be on the lookout for an incarcerated man who escaped from a reentry program facility in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) identified the man as 32-year-old Dijon Barber.

According to CDCR’s release, officials were alerted around 11:30 a.m. that Barber had removed his GPS device.

Staff then conducted an emergency count and confirmed that Barber was missing from the Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP) facility.

Officials did not immediately specify exactly how Barber escaped other than the fact that he “walked away” from the facility.

Barber was last seen wearing a black and brown hooded sweater, black sweats and black sandals, according to the release. He stands 6 feet tall, weighs about 240 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

CDCR said Barber was received from Los Angeles County on March 18, 2024, and was sentenced to four years for first-degree robbery, theft/embezzlement from an elder/dependent adult and grand theft person.

Officials did not add whether Barber had a last known location.

Anyone who sees Barber or has knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact any law enforcement agency, call 911 or contact Special Agent Rene Ramos at 909-322-8197.
