EXCLUSIVE: Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting) and Jefferson White (Yellowstone) have joined the cast of JFK thriller November 1963 in the roles of Jack Ruby and Lee Harvey Oswald.
The film, which is gearing up for a spring 2025 shoot in Canada, delves into the events surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. As we previously revealed, starring the movie are John Travolta (Pulp Fiction, Grease), Mandy Patinkin (Homeland), and Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding).
Directed by two-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker Roland Joffé (The Killing Fields), November 1963 will examine the mystery and intrigue that enveloped one of the most significant moments in American history, promising an in-depth, fresh perspective directly from the individuals whose lives were forever changed by the intense 48 hours surrounding the assassination.
Pic is being produced by Kevin DeWalt of Mind’s Eye Entertainment and Nicki Celozzi of Le Monde Productions. Celozzi also serves as the film’s writer. International sales are being handled by Daniel Baur of K5 International.

The film’s script is based on firsthand accounts, including exclusive insights from the Giancana family, particularly Sam Giancana. As the boss of the Chicago Outfit, one of the most powerful Italian-American criminal organizations in the United States during the 1950s and early 1960s, Giancana became widely known for his connections to the Kennedy family during John F. Kennedy’s presidential campaign and presidency.
The film has taken on fresh relevance following the recent uncovering of previously classified JFK files. According to the producers, many of the film’s insights are supported by the documents.
Writer and producer Nicki Celozzi, nephew of Sam Giancana, said: “The whole essence of the story, the project, why we are doing this, is that it came from Sam Giancana‘s brother, Pepe, who was in the room with him during these two days.The story, the screenplay is their story, my family story that specifically focuses on the ‘outfit’, Giancana, and their involvement in setting up the ‘assassination’ with the second shooter, who was sent there as a fail safe backup and implemented.”
