Nancy Dubuc, the former CEO at A+E Networks and Vice Media who exited Vice in 2023, has resurfaced in an executive role at a venture stacked with fellow travelers.
Women’s sports brand Togethxr (not a typo – it’s pronounced “together”) said Thursday that Dubuc has come aboard as executive chair.
Dubuc also is a board member at Flutter Entertainment, Webtoon Entertainment, and Warner Music.
Togethxr is known for creating the popular slogan “everyone watches women’s sports,” which has been seen adorning T-shirts, hoodies and tote bags over the past couple years. The company was co-founded by pro athletes Alex Morgan, Chloe Kim, Simone Manuel, and Sue Bird and also has other media veterans in the mix, among them former Huffington Post exec Betsy Morgan and onetime Disney entertainment chief Susan Lyne. The company last year hired Westbrook Media alum Tina Tozzi to head development.
Morgan and Lyne, who have held a number of executive posts across media and tech over the years, have segued into more finance-oriented roles in recent years. Morgan co-founded Magnet Companies, a private equity-backed company focused on media and commerce, and Lyne is managing partner and co-founder of BBG Ventures. Both firms are investors in Togethxr.

One of Togethxr’s new investors is Checker Media, the investment company founded by former Vice Media and New York Post executive Jesse Angelo.
The company announced an influx of new investment funding and said it has achieved profitability and hit major growth and revenue milestones, along with increasing its valuation twofold since its last raise. Riding a wave of fan interest across the WNBA, women’s NCAA sports like basketball, softball and volleyball, and newer professional leagues like the NWSL, Togethxr says it has tripled its revenue year over year, reaching $6 million in 2024. Along with rising viewership, women’s sports has become a major draw for advertisers, driving a number of well-funded brand campaigns, with high-profile moments at the 2024 Paris Olympics punctuating the upswing.
As executive chair, Dubuc, a former athlete herself who rowed crew at Boston University, will advise Togethxr’s team and inform its brand strategy while liaising with investors and the board of directors.
“I have spent my career working across all corners of the media industry, and I’m eager to devote this next phase of my professional life to a growth opportunity,” she said in a statement. “Never one to shy away from a sports metaphor, business is a team sport, and I’m excited to join this remarkable group of athletes, executives, and investors as we prove that investing in women’s sports is good business.”
