EXCLUSIVE: Rampage ‘n J Productions, the recently launched production company of UFC champ turned actor-producer Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (The A-Team) and writer-director Joel Silverman, has secured financing for production on a slate of film and TV projects, bringing in Hartbeat alum Carli Haney to oversee development and production.
The financial backers of Rampage ‘n J are Harrison Rogers, CEO of energy drink F3 and the new MMA-style United Fight League, and BC Investments, led by Dr. Paul Larson and W.D. McCurley. Haney joins as SVP from Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat, where she served as director of development, exec producing the Hart-starrer Fatherhood for Sony and producing and appearing in the Netflix docuseries Kevin Hart: Don’t F**K This Up.
In a statement on her career move, Haney explained, “I was looking for a dynamic situation. We have a great rising talent in Rampage, and I’m confident he’ll elevate to the next level as actor and producer and it only helps that he has worldwide platforms.”

Haney added that “as a writer, Joel has sold to all the major buyers with his work attracting Oscar talent from Marcia Gay Harden and Don Cheadle to amazing new stars like Jenna Ortega. Sean Penn recently appeared in a series Joel created. So I value being able to take our material to the best actors and directors with real money offers.”
“With guys like Mr. Rogers backing us, I’m ready to get outta the octagon and chase a new dream,” said Jackson, a former UFC light heavyweight champion who made his feature debut with The A-Team and plans to fight two or three more times before focusing solely on acting and producing. “Guess the time comes to stop hitting people.”
Said Silverman, who wrote and directed the Harvey Keitel starrer Nailed and penned After Words with Ortega and Harden, “It’s heartening that savvy businessmen have such faith in our material.”
Projects on Rampage ‘n J’s development slate include a feature adaptation of the Harper Collins YA bestseller The Afterlife of Holly Chase; a Suzy Baseball film, based on the book by Susan Forno; a take on the crime novel series The Virgins for TV; and the action-drama Barney Ross, based on the true story of triple division boxing champ Ross, which highlights his WWII heroism. There’s also Fake Friend Tour, based on a true story, which sees three girls from Los Angeles travel to Ireland, only for their vacay to go awry when they get involved with the wrong Dublin mobster.
We were first to announce the launch of Rampage n’ J Productions last summer. Areas the company is focused on include biopics, book-to-screen adaptations, and TV dramas, particularly in the area of crime.
