Kate Middleton and Prince William have shared a previously unseen photograph from their wedding day as they celebrate their 13th anniversary.
On April 29, 2011, Catherine Middleton, wearing bespoke Alexander McQueen, walked down Westminster Abbey’s aisle to Sir Hubert Parry’s I Was Glad on the arm of her proud father, Michael Middleton, to marry Prince William. Her sister, Pippa Middleton, was a bridesmaid, dutifully arranging her sister’s train. Meanwhile members of the royal family including the late Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, proudly watched on.
Now, the couple has shared a never before seen portrait from the event on their social media, writing, “13 years ago today!” The snap shows the bride and groom standing proudly facing the camera, with the prince posing with his arm around the princess. A clearly delighted Kate Middleton can be seen beaming in the photograph, clutching her stunning floral bouquet. The couple’s wedding photographer, Millie Pilkington, was quick to share her best wishes to William and Kate.

It’s likely been a challenging few months for the prince and princess, after Kate began undergoing treatment for cancer earlier this year. Sharing the news with the world in March, she praised William for his support during “an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family” in an emotional video message. At the time, she said, “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance.” Meanwhile she told how she and the prince had been “been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
Experts have also revealed that the health diagnosis has been “tough” on the Prince and Princess of Wales as they are “trying to reconcile their children’s wellbeing with the seriousness of her diagnosis.” Royal expert Robert Jobson told Hello! magazine the couple have grown “closer” amidst the health battle and their bond is now “unshakeable.” He added, “there is no question that William has been Catherine’s rock. He is the constant in her life and she is at the heart of his.”
