A golden retriever has gained viral attention after he revealed himself to be a “Swiftie” in an adorable TikTok video.
Finn, the English cream golden retriever, became enchanted with pop star Taylor Swift while his owner was watching her on TV. In the video, TikTok poster @finntok1021 showcased Finn’s adorable reaction as he strolls into the room where his owner is tuned into Swift’s performance on television. With an unmistakable sense of curiosity and fascination, Finn edges closer to the screen, visibly captivated by Swift’s presence.
Swifties are celebrating the release of Swift’s much-anticipated 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD).
Just two hours after the album graced the airwaves, Swift sent shockwaves through the music industry with the revelation of a secret double album. Aptly titled The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, this unexpected addition boasts 15 extra songs, bringing the total of newly released tracks to 31.
Swifties were quick to notice the significance of this number, as 31 holds a special place in the singer’s heart—it’s 13 backward, a number she considers her lucky charm.
Gaining more than 1.2 million views, people were obsessed with the dog’s Swift-fascination in the clip. In the caption, his owner wrote: “Finn was captivated. He’s a swiftie.”
Comments flooded in, with one viewer aptly dubbing Finn the “Swooftie,” cleverly blending the terms “Swiftie” and “woof” to encapsulate his newfound fandom.
“The way he came in to get a better view,” wrote one viewer after seeing the way Finn edged into the room to get closer to the TV.
Others thought his reaction was seriously relatable. “Me if I was a dog,” read one comment.
The dog’s charming encounter with the Swift video cemented his status as a “Swooftie,” while his owner continues to share his daily antics on their TikTok account, from chasing his tail in the living room to playing with friends.
This isn’t the first time a canine has been linked to the singer. Last year, a dog named Taylor Swift gave birth to nine puppies on her first night in an animal shelter.
Staff members named the dog’s puppies after Swift songs, christening them: Wildest Dreams, Paper Rings, Bejeweled, Style, Tim McGraw, Fearless, Enchanted, Cardigan, and Gorgeous.
Earlier this week, a dog breeder revealed how one of their recent golden retriever litter was born green, prompting Swift fans to dub the puppy named Shamrock a real-life “key-lime dog,” linking the dog to the star’s song “The Last Great American Dynasty.”
