Last year, more than 45,000 people got an organ transplant in the United States, receiving a new kidney, liver, heart, lung or other organ that allowed them to live longer and happier.
The transplant system offers extraordinary gifts to many people, but it also has come under intense scrutiny in recent years for long wait times, scandals and other problems.
The New York Times is looking into the organ transplant system.
Do you have information about the system? If so, we need your help.
If you are a doctor, nurse, technician or anybody else who has worked on organ transplants, we’d love to hear from you. We are also eager to talk to from medical residents who have worked in transplant programs. And of course, we also want to hear from patients and their families.
We will not publish any part of your response without talking with you first. And we will not share your contact information with anyone outside the Times newsroom. But if you would feel more comfortable contacting us anonymously, you can do so through our tips page.
