Meghan Markle was the picture of relaxed elegance as she posed in a charity T-shirt and jeans this week.
In photographs shared by the Alliance of Moms organization, the Duchess of Sussex could be seen with her arms wrapped around two friends, Kelly McKee Zajfen and Abigail Spencer, a former co-star of Meghan’s in Suits. The images show the Duchess beaming with joy and sharing a laugh with the two women, while all three wore matching T-shirts which read “Love like a Mom.” According to the initiative, sales of the T-shirt support “essential services, education, and advocacy so that young parents in foster care and their children can heal and thrive.” Meghan paired the tee with relaxed jeans, and wore her hair in loose waves around her face in the snaps.
Sharing the images, the organization wrote, “When we speak about the people in our lives who lift us up when you need it with undeniable force of pure love I think of these two. You inspire me. You pick me up when I need it and you Love Like A Mother! Thank you for continuing to support the Alliance of Moms for supporting this campaign and our youth. In doing so, you are supporting the mission to build bright futures for young parents who have experienced foster care.”
The appearance comes amidst a busy period for Meghan, who is currently ramping up her PR efforts around the launch of her brand, American Riviera Orchard. Earlier this week, she revealed her first American Riviera Orchard product as she sent out baskets to a number of friends containing homemade jam. Delfina Blaquier, who is the wife of Nacho Figueras, took to Instagram to reveal the Duchess had given her a basket full of American Riviera Orchard branded jam. The clear jar featured a cream white packaging which showcased the gold American Riviera Orchard logo. Meghan also appeared to have handwritten the words “10 of 50” onto the packaging—apparently hinting at the exclusivity of the jam.
Sources this week said Meghan Markle is “excited” to launch her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard. Speaking to People, insiders said the Duchess “finds the name American Riviera Orchard perfect.” They continued, “It feels authentic to her. She can’t wait for the website to launch. This is something she’s been wanting to do for a while. She is excited to share her style and things that she loves.”
It has since emerged the Duchess is “interviewing candidates” to head up the company, with insiders telling the Daily Mail the royal is seeking someone for the CEO role.
Meanwhile the Duchess is also believed to be filming her new Netflix show, which may even feature American Riviera Orchard products. According to Deadline, the first series will see the Duchess celebrate the “joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.” It’s believed Meghan Markle will not only star in the series, but she is also listed as an executive producer. The news comes after Meghan unveiled her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, with reports indicating she would be filming a series to coincide with the launch.
The announcement will likely raise questions as to how much the couple will reveal about their personal lives in the two series. There will be some punters who reckon there has been more than enough “factual entertainment” from the Montecito camp, particularly after the release of Harry’s memoir Spare. The dramatic rifts caused by Spare, as well as the Oprah interview will leave people wondering just what damage could be done by any more “factual entertainment.”
Meanwhile it remains to be seen whether the Duchess will join Prince Harry in the UK in May, when he is due to mark the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary. The Duke of Sussex, 39, will speak at a special service marking the anniversary of the event which will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8.
