A police chase that began with a report of shots fired led to the temporary closure of the George Washington bridge on Tuesday, according to police.
The pursuit started in the Upper West Side shortly after 4 p.m. when multiple people reported gunshots being fired near 79th Street and Henry Hudson Parkway, the NYPD said.
Cops located a vehicle believed to be affiliated with the shooting and gave chase.
During the pursuit, police shut down “a few roadways,” including the George Washington Bridge, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
It’s not clear how long the bridge was closed.
Police said they are still looking for the driver of the vehicle.
No one was injured during the initial shots fired.
