Sharon Stone is naming names. The actress claimed that late producer Robert Evans tried to pressure her into having sex with Billy Baldwin while they were filming the 1993 thriller Sliver.
Stone previously wrote about the incident in her 2021 memoir The Beauty of Living Twice. However, she never named exactly who was involved — until now.
“[Evans] called me to his office,” she recalled on a recent episode of The Louis Theroux podcast, per Page Six. “He had these very low ’70s, ’80s couches, so I’m essentially sitting on the floor when I should have been on set.”
She continued, “He’s running around his office in sunglasses explaining to me that he slept with Ava Gardner and I should sleep with Billy Baldwin, because if I slept with Billy Baldwin, Billy Baldwin’s performance would get better, and we needed Billy to get better in the movie because that was the problem.”
Evans — who worked on iconic films like Rosemary’s Baby, The Godfather, Chinatown and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days — allegedly thought that Stone and Baldwin sleeping together would result in better “chemistry on screen” which would ultimately “save the movie.”
Stone further claimed that Evans, who died in 2019 at the age of 89, was “high out of his mind” during their conversation.
“The real problem with the movie was me because I was so uptight, and so not like a real actress who could just fuck him and get things back on track,” she said. “The real problem was I was such a tight arse.”
But what really seemed to irk her was that they went with Baldwin over the “list of actors” she suggested for the part, like Michael Douglas.
“I didn’t have to fuck Michael Douglas,” she said. “Michael could come to work and know how to hit those marks, and do that line, and rehearse and show up. Now all of a sudden I’m in the ‘I have to fuck people’ business.”
Stone has been open about her uncomfortable experiences in Hollywood. She previously alleged that a former “head of Sony … took his penis right out in my face” during a meeting early in her career.
“I started laughing and crying at the same time and I couldn’t stop because I became hysterical. I couldn’t stop, so he didn’t know what to do,” she said. “So, of course, he put it away and he went through this door behind his desk, which I thought was that he left, so I didn’t know what to do.”
