Prince Harry secretly attends low-key Remembrance Sunday ceremony in UK town

Prince Harry attended a Remembrance Day service in a small town in the UK Sunday, skipping the royal family’s annual commemoration at Cenotaph.

The Duke of Sussex, 42, was spotted wearing his military medals and a red poppy on his suit to mark the occasion, blending in with the crowd in Brackley, Northamptonshire.

His wife, Meghan Markle, 45, and their two kids — Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet , 5 — were not with him.

While the “Spare” author’s Remembrance Day observation was low-key, the royal family was at the Cenotaph in London where his dad, King Charles III, led a two-minute silence to honor veterans who died in conflict.

Prince William, Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla were all in attendance, as well as senior politicians and 10,000 armed forced veterans.

A source told Hello! in September that Harry wouldn’t be taking part in Remembrance Day eventseven after moving back to the UKa month prior, because he had “no desire to create drama” and distract from the observance.

“He’s not going to do anything that would pull focus from the Royal Family or the national commemorations at the Cenotaph in London,” the insider told the outlet.

Harry will most likely “mark it in the same way that most veterans do, privately, either at church or at their local war memorial’s annual service,” the insider added.

In November 2025, while he was still living in the US, he penned a heartfelt essay about what Remembrance Day means to him.

“Though currently, I may live in the United States, Britain is, and always will be, the country I proudly served and fought for,” he wrote. “The banter of the mess, the clubhouse, the pub, the stands ridiculous as it sounds, these are the things that make us British. I make no apology for it. I love it.”

“Remembrance, then, is not simply a minute’s silence,” he also wrote. “It’s a call to collective responsibility. Not through sympathy, but through admiration and respect.”
