Sexual misconduct claims against Homeland Security official Micah Bock resurfaced as critics blasted his post announcing a move to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and touting “remigration.”
Fox News Digital writer Preston Mizell reported on X Monday that Bock will serve as deputy chief of staff and assistant director of communications at ICE. Bock has also served in roles for disgraced former Rep. Madison Cawthorne (R-NC), Victoria Spartz (R-IN), election denier Jenna Ellis, and the Department of Homeland Security since the misconduct allegations first surfaced.
The reaction to his new role on Monday quickly revived the claims BuzzFeed News first reported in 2021.
“Remigration is the decisive battle of our time, and represents the only means of securing the longevity of this Republic and the continuity of the people and civilization that built it,” Bock wrote.
Less than two hours later, Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, a senior fellow at the American Immigration Council, wrote on X that Bock is “pushing Great Replacement theory here while using the ‘remigration’ language of the European far right, a phrase whose connotations he is well aware of.”
Great Replacement theory is the white nationalist conspiracy theory that immigrants are being brought in to replace white people. Reichlin-Melnick attached a screenshot of the BuzzFeed News report to his post.
“Remigration,” the word Bock used, is also how Martin Sellner, founder of the Identitarian Movement of Austria, described a plan to deport Germans of foreign origin that he presented at a November 2023 meeting in Potsdam, Germany, Le Monde reported, citing the investigative outlet Correctiv.
Leaders of Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany party, along with donors and members of the neo-Nazi movement, attended the meeting, according to the paper.
In the 2021 BuzzFeed News report, Leah Petree, who attended Patrick Henry College in Virginia with Bock, said he pressed first his arm and then his genitals against her while she slept at a house with friends after a 2016 pool party.
She told the outlet she had spent the night dodging his touches and had asked a friend to sleep beside her to keep him away.
“I remember physically taking his arm and being like, ‘What are you doing?’ Like, physically picking it up and pushing it off of me and going, ‘You need to stop. Like, stop,’” Petree said of waking in the middle of the night to find his arm wrapped around her.
“I could feel, like, hard genitalia. It was that level of, like, I could feel him pressed into me and just being like, no,” she said of waking again a few hours later to find Bock still curled around her.
“He says to me, ‘You definitely weren’t really asleep. You wanted it,’” Petree said of a message Bock sent her later that day. “That’s what he tells me. And I just remember being like getting in this text battle with him being like, what are you talking about?”
Her boyfriend and the friend she had asked to sleep beside her each told BuzzFeed News she described the encounter to them the next morning.
The boyfriend, Preston Burgess, told the outlet that when he visited her at the college later that school year, he refused to shake Bock’s hand, and Bock told him Petree had been “asking for it.”
Bock called the allegation “completely untrue” in a text to BuzzFeed News and did not answer the outlet’s follow-up requests for an interview or details.
When The Daily Beast sought comment in September 2025, Bock twice declined to deny the allegation, the outlet reported. Instead, the outlet said, his boss at the time, Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, shared a letter from the college’s president saying its records did not back up the claim.
The letter addressed claims BuzzFeed never made, The Daily Beast pointed out, since the 2021 report did not say the alleged incident happened on campus or that anyone had filed a complaint with the school.
Monday afternoon, independent journalist Marcy Wheeler wrote on X, “Time to hang this Nazi pervert around the neck of every swing district right winger in Texas.” Her post quoted Bock’s, so the Nazi label rests on his own words from that morning.
Three minutes later, Wheeler wrote to Mike Rogers, Michigan’s Republican Senate nominee, “Do you approve of an open NeoNazi alleged of sexual misconduct being appointed to a senior DHS role? Is this how you plan to attract Jewish voters?”
