Ben Affleck admitted he’s “still afraid” of his “Gone Girl” co-star and on-screen wife, Rosamund Pike, more than 10 years after the thriller’s release.
The actor — who portrayed Nick Dunne — a suspect linked to the disappearance of his wife, Amy Dunne, played by Pike, recalled the latter’s chilling performancein the 2014 David Fincher-directed film.
“I’m still afraid of Rosamund Pike,” he told Variety in an interview published Wednesday, before recalling their post-production conversations.

“I’m like, ‘Hey Rosamund. How are you?’” Affleck, 54, said, appearing skittish.
“She still has that, sort of, look. You know what I mean?” he continued, as he then attempted to mimic Pike, 47, and her British accent.
“Hello Ben, it’s nice to talk to you,” the “Argo” star said in a mysterious tone, pretending to be the actress.

“I’m like, ‘Oh, f–k,’” Affleck quipped. “She still has that quality. It was a great performance. She was great in the movie.”
The “Good Will Hunting” star also raved about working alongside Fincher, referring to him as “one of the great filmmakers, I think, ever.”
Affleck shared he and Fincher both trusted each other, and he had no doubt the film was “going to work.”

“Gone Girl” follows Nick and Amy, a couple with a picture-perfect marriage to the public. However, their love story takes a twist when Amy unexpectedly goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary.
Nick becomes a prime suspect in Amy’s disappearance as the case draws media attention, but viewers quickly realize not everything is as it seems as the movie plays out.
The movie also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Carrie Coon, Kim Dickens and Emily Ratajkowski.

“Gone Girl” earned Pike a nomination in the category of Best Actress at the 2015 Oscars. However, the award went to Julianne Moore for her role in “Still Alice.”
Additionally, the movie was nominated in several categories at the 2015 Golden Globes, with Pike up for Best Actress and Fincher for Best Director.
Ultimately, Moore took home the award for Best Actress while Richard Linklater won Best Director for “Boyhood.”
