Michigan Republican Mike Rogers appears to have a lot of work to do in the next 27 days before the midterm elections to get disillusioned Donald Trump voters to show up for him as he seeks an open US Senate seat.
On Tuesday, MS NOW analyst Elise Jordan shared video from a focus group of disgruntled Trump voters who admitted that they are suffering “buyer’s remorse” over their 2024 vote and now would rather vote for a Democrat — if they don’t stay home instead. After giving the ten conservative participants room to lodge their complaints against the second Trump administration, Jordan asked for a show of hands to gauge how many plan to vote for Rogers over his Democratic opponent, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed.
“Show of hands,” she said in the clip, “Who has decided who they’re going to vote for in the Senate race?”
Of the ten, six raised their hands, with the last woman scowling and looking dejected.
“Okay. How many of you are going to vote for Mike Rogers?” they were asked, at which point the scowling woman became the only one to raise her hand.
“So how many of you are going to vote for Abdul El-Sayed?” Jordan pressed.
Five of the Trump voters raised their hands without a pause.
Speaking with host Alexander in the studio, Jordan confessed “I was surprised that there wasn’t more support or more leaning [towards] Rogers in that group.”
